WEDDINGS AT NORTHWOOD CHRISTIAN CHURCH
Your Special Day Looking for that special place for your wedding? We offer our sanctuary for larger weddings, and our chapel for more intimate gatherings. We also have a lovely rose garden area for small outdoor weddings. Gorgeous wrought iron candelabra are available for candlelight ceremonies at no extra charge. Feel free to contact Carrie Sample, our office administrator and wedding hostess, anytime if you would like a tour. Below you will find more information about fees and policies.
General Information and Fees The date for the wedding and wedding rehearsal must be cleared on the church calendar. This is done through Carrie Sample, the church’s office administrator. The date and time will be secure with a $100 non-refundable deposit and the completion of a wedding registration form. We will provide you with a copy of our wedding policy and procedures. Pastor Ted Nottingham will officiate at your wedding, provided the date is clear on his calendar. The fee for non-member weddings at Northwood is $900, which includes the use of the sanctuary, meeting with the minister to prepare the service, the rehearsal and wedding, wedding hostess, organist, and custodian. If the wedding is for more than 200 people or for more than 5 attendants each, the cost is $1025. If the wedding is in our chapel, the cost is $825. Policies And Procedures The facilities of Northwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) are available for weddings for members and non-members alike. The congregation and staff of Northwood are committed to making these occasions worshipful and meaningful. Music Northwood’s Organist will play for all weddings. If she is unavailable for a particular date, arrangements will be made for a substitute organist. If the couple wants to use other soloists or instrumentalists, they must consult with the wedding coordinator. Building Use Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the church building. There is one designated area outside the building; there is to be no smoking anywhere else on the church grounds. There are to be no alcoholic beverages in the building or on the church property. No rice, confetti, bird seed, etc. is to be thrown inside the church building, and use outside must be cleared with the wedding hostess. It is our expectation that all persons involved in the wedding party and among the guests will treat Northwood’s buildings and property with respect and care. Questions and Miscellaneous Throughout the planning process and up to the wedding day, all questions should be directed to the church secretary/wedding hostess who can be reached Monday through Friday from 9 until 4, or by leaving a message on her voice mail at 283-1352. She will arrange with you the arrival times for floral deliveries, photographers, etc. The marriage license (with all necessary items completed) should be presented to the wedding hostess at the wedding rehearsal. Northwood’s staff will be responsible for gathering all necessary signatures and sending the official copy to the appropriate county agency. A copy will be kept in our office for future reference and/or need.
