Pastor Ted begins his ministry here at Northwood in January 2008. He has been an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for over twenty-one years. A graduate from the Graduate Seminary of Phillips University in Oklahoma, he has served congregations in Oklahoma, Ohio, Indiana, and in the state of Washington. Ted has written and translated a number of published books dealing with the theme of spiritual transformation. The heart of his passion lies in assisting each person to experience the reality of the Holy and to “taste and see” how good is our God. Communicating the life-changing Word especially through preaching and teaching are central to his gifts in ministry. He is also deeply committed to evangelism, especially among seekers who find it difficult to enter a church for the meaning and the answers they crave. Pastor Ted is available for spiritual guidance and counseling. Not just “the church secretary,” Carrie edits The Northwood News and maintains this website. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from DePauw University (1996). A fiber arts fanatic, Carrie recently started the Kindred Spirits Shawl Ministry, a group that knits and crochets items for those in need of comfort or warmth. She joyfully spends as much time as possible playing with and chasing after her two young sons Elijah and Isaiah. A member of Northwood for about five years, Carrie most enjoys getting to be an active part in the life of the church not only on Sunday, but also the other six days of the week! Leslie Brinson, Childcare Attendant Next time you are at Northwood on a Sunday morning, introduce yourself to Leslie Brinson, who is already hard at work in our church nursery. Leslie begins her work early each Sunday morning so our 8:30 worshippers can have the same loving childcare opportunities as those who come to our 10:45 service. Leslie will also give assistance to our Sunday morning teachers as needed. She comes to us from Butler University where she is a senior in horn performance, German, and English. She brings experience in working with children at her home church in Evansville, Indiana and comes highly recommended by previous employers for this position. |
