FOOD PANTRY

Every Thursday, we have a food pantry for those in need in our neighborhood.
We can always use donations of paper grocery sacks and dry goods.  We are
very excited because this summer, we are going to be adding fresh produce to
our selections from our new hunger garden’s harvest.

GARDEN BUDDIES

Have a green thumb, or just like to dig in the dirt?  Join our new Garden
Buddies group as we grow fresh veggies like heirloom tomatoes, sweet
potatoes, and a myriad of hot and sweet peppers in our hunger garden.  The
fruits of our labors will be donated to our food pantry.  You are also welcome to
help yourself to some of the harvest—especially if you don’t have the space or
the time to garden anymore.

MENTOR A CHILD AT SCHOOL 70

You can make a difference in the life of a child with a one-hour or more
commitment per week.  Help children at IPS #70 improve their reading and
writing skills.  Volunteer forms are available from the church office.

SERVE DINNER AT WHEELER

A group from Northwood Christian Church regularly goes to Wheeler Mission to
help serve dinner.  Generally, everyone leaves from the church parking lot and
carpools downtown.  If you are available from 4:15 to 6:30 PM on the days that
they plan to go, feel free to come and lend a hand.  Wheeler would be happy to
have you!  Contact Denise Rogers at
dfrzta2000@yahoo.com for more details.
