Whether you are a professional musician, gifted amateur or someone who is seeking to learn, there
is a place for you in the Music Ministry of Northwood Church. There are many opportunities to
share your talents whether through participating in an organized choir, or as an instrumentalist
sharing in a worship experience. At Northwood there is a place for you.

Chancel Choir: The Chancel Choir rehearses each Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary,
from September through June. They sing regularly for the 10:45 a.m. worship service and also
share in special services throughout the church year. This year they will also be a part of the Music
at Northwood Concert Series.

Northwood Ringers: Northwood is blessed with a 5 octave set of White Chapel Hand Bells. The
Northwood Ringers meet each Thursday evening in the Sanctuary at 6:30 p.m., from September
through May to rehearse. They share their music in the 10:45 a.m. worship service once per month
and also are a part of special worship experiences throughout the year. There is also an opportunity
for some small ensemble ringing.  The only prerequisite for participation in this group is the ability
to read music on a very basic level.

Northwood Children’s Choir: The Northwood Children’s Choir meets each Sunday morning at 9:30
a.m. in the choir room on the second floor. The choir is directed by our organist, Sharon Watson.
In addition to singing for worship on a regular basis, Sharon teaches the children proper singing
techniques, rhythm, and helps them to understand how music is an expression of worship.

      An evening for outstanding entertainment by two of Indianapolis’ local theatre stars. Fine
performances, fine food all available in the Fellowship Hall here at Northwood Church.

December 14, 2008 4:00 p.m.

                                            Christmas at Northwood
      Music of the season presented by the Northwood Chancel Choir, Northwood Ringers and guest
instrumentalists.  Join with the members and friends of Northwood Church as we sing and ring in
the season with some of the best loved Christmas music of all time.

      Indianapolis Children’s Choir
      The world famous Indianapolis Children’s choir comes to Northwood to share their
considerable talents.

May 3, 2009
      Mozart in the Middle
      The Northwood Chancel Choir joins with instrumentalists to present “Hear My Prayer” by
Felix Mendelssohn and “Mass in G” by Franz Schubert. Between these two pieces will be a
presentation of the Church Sonatas for organ and strings by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart featuring
organist Sharon Watson.
